I met the author while playing golf, and he gifted me a copy of his book. Although I’ve received books before, this was the first one I couldn’t put down. It was incredibly well-written, keeping me on the edge of my seat the whole time. The financial details were spot-on, and the intimate scenes were brilliantly executed. I told the author it was as good as anything I’ve read by Clancy or Grisham. Truly impressive!

This book completely took me by surprise—in the best way. I went into it not knowing what to expect, and I ended up totally hooked. The drama, the secrets, the emotional moments—it all felt so real. I have read books ever since I was a kid and during the past few years NOTHING even remotely close to this book has captivated my attention to the point that I actually lost track of time during the final 4 chapters and read until the sun rose just to find out what happened to the hero of this book who inspired me to always stand up for what’s right ! I was riveted from the first few pages and have given the book to many of my colleagues and friends and each of them has said the same thing after reading it……” We hope James Cotera is already writing the sequel ! ” This book covers every genre possible under the umbrella of stories from thriller and suspense to a very erotic relationship with a woman who he so deserved after what was done to him, lucky guy ! The book is a classic example of poetic justice and takes a man from heaven to hell and back to heaven ! A Must Read !!!!!!

Cotera takes a similar tact from Grisham but enhances every detail from character development to story line plausibility that raises the bar for all of his contemporaries. This reviewer’s interest was captured from the first page on. Not being a fast reader, I finished this book in record time. It truly is one that exemplifies the phrase “couldn’t put it down.” The journey the reader is taken on is textbook movie material – keeping the audience on the edge of their seats throughout. Well, I’m leaving my second review because when I left my first review, my phone only showed four stars and this book deserves well over four stars if it could have 10 stars, I would give it 10 stars so I just wanted to put a five star review because when I put it on my phone, it only showed one through four. I had to scroll down which I did not realize that I am totally amazed with the writing talent as well as the story of this book. I cannot say enough so excuse my four star it should’ve been a five star in my previous review.
I loved everything about the book (#1). The corporate stuff, the plot, the violence, the relationships… When you start reading the book, you can’t put it down. The writing style is great and the description of the characters is awesome. One of the best books I have ever read. Can’t wait to read #2.

Fatal Acquisition by James Cotera was impossible to put down! I always judge a book by how it grabs me in the first few pages and by page ten, I was completely hooked. This story has it all: intrigue, suspense, murder, greed, messy family drama, characters you’ll both love and hate, heart pounding twists, and yes, some very steamy scenes. It’s a Netflix series just waiting to happen. Highly recommend!
AWESOME & EXCELLENT Book. This was absolutely the best book I have ever read. The story is dynamic and thrilling, and so real to life. I read it in 3 evenings. It is one of the rare books that grabs you by the collar and doesn’t let go until the last page—and then leaves you wanting more. Your excitement practically leaps off the page. The story is “contagious”—that’s the kind of energy that makes people rush out to read it. I could not put the book down and just wanted to read more and more to find out what was next. The author did a sensational job of keeping the reader glued to read the next chapter. Every page held my attention and curiosity of what was next. I cannot wait to allow someone else to share this exciting exhilarating story.

This book is a must read! The moment you start the book it is captivating. It was hard to put the book down and not finish in one sitting. Growing up in CT and close to NY the stories adaptation to surrounding areas is precise. The plot keeps you intrigued and does not get boring at any moment. Business, Murder, Sex, Lies all wrapped into one book! Ultimately greed will always catch up to you. I’m hoping there will be a sequel that gives us more as the story still has so much to offer from Michael!

Once I opened it I couldn’t put it down and finished it over a long holiday weekend. Can’t help but love CEO Michael Roberts. Wealth, greed and corruption all play a part in this drama-filled book. The unexpected twists and turns will keep you on the edge of your seat. Learned a lot about stocks and acquisitions while loving the read. Looking forward to a sequel.

This book was amazing, it had you guessing all the time. I love his writing style. This was not the way I thought the story was going to go. It was both happy and sad. It’s amazing what someone will do when pushed to the edge. Can’t wait to read more of his books.
This is the first and only time that I have ever been so thrilled with a book that I am compelled to submit a review. I have read dozens of books by James Patterson but FATAL ACQUISITION by James Cotera out does them all. Here is how I came across this book; I was visiting my son one weekend and I saw this new book on his living room table. My intentions were to just skim through and go back to the book that I brought along for the weekend. 24 hours later I had finished reading and told my son that this is probably the best book I have ever read. Fatal Acquisition is a must read and share with your friends and colleagues.
I will say this book is nothing at all like I expected. The story completely drags you in its thought-provoking twists and turns demanding you to sit on the edge of your seat. As my first thriller book, Fatal Acquisition, didn’t disappoint, it is easy to read and hard to put down. Read it. Pass it on. Buy it for someone who loves thriller/suspense books or someone who is just ready to try something new like me. You will love this book and they will thank you for it.

One of the most captivating and riveting storylines… I was up until 1 AM could not put the book down as I couldn’t wait to see what unfolded. The characters are so real. The author obviously has first-hand knowledge and expertise in the business world. The intrigue continues from the first page to the last… Can’t wait for the sequel…
It’s a shame I can only give it five stars. It deserves many more. I could have read it in one sitting but unfortunately I had to sleep. Mr. Cotera has done a fabulous job of combining education of how a takeover works along with murder and sex appeal. It is interesting to see the sex scenes from a man’s point of view without them being trashy. The way he turns a good, respected business man into murderer and having him be able to keep that part of his life separate from everything else in his life is great. Can’t wait to read his next book.
As an avid reader I am blown away by Mr. Cotera’s first book. Definitely not a formula written book. This book leaves me wanting a sequel because I could not put it down. We have corporate leaders who lead by example combining both business and compassion. Where someone’s word is their bond. A little love and family dynamics make this a WINNER of a book. The plot grabs you at page one and propels you to the last page. Run to your nearest bookstore and buy this book. You will not be disappointed!
The only thing that could earn this riveting financial thriller a “+” after the five stars I am giving it would be a weekend with Brandi! I could feel the Hero’s pain, caring, revenge, sexual satisfaction and joy, pretty much throughout the entire book. Especially the completeness of it all. Full circle, my friend. These days, after practicing law for 20 years and owning my own Financial Services firm for another 18 ( this book was perfect with a guy of my backgrounds), I officiate five sports in the Northeast and four down here in South Florida. I found myself arriving to my sporting events 15 minutes, then a half hour then a full two hours prior the event just so I could spend some time with the characters so wonderfully devised and developed. Looking forward to a sequel, and – as my ancestors would exclaim – FUGHEDABOUDIT! Great job! Now, about that weekend with Brandi…
